| Capture Mission | On 27 December 1972, participated in a mission as 4 F-4Ds provided air cover to a strike force of A-7 Corsairs on a mission over Hanoi. Despite heavy anti-aircraft fire, numerous SAMs,and engaging and diverting hostile aircraft, the strike force completed thier mission successfully. Trimble's aircraft hit by MIG - 21 fire. |
| MIA Information and Dates | Bailed out on 27 December and landed near a Nort Vietnam village. Rapidly discovered by a farmer and his wife, and shortly thereafter taken prisioned by 20-30 armed Vietnamese. Taken that night to Hanoi Hilton and released with the last group of POWs on 29 March 1973. |
